Over the years, its database has undergone reorganizations, server migrations, redesigns, and updates. During such transitions, portions of large archives can appear temporarily inaccessible or relocated. Confusion can also arise when U.S. government agencies change how they store, categorize, or host digital records. Files may be moved to different portals, reindexed, or consolidated under new systems, which can create the impression that material has “vanished” when it has actually been transferred or reformatted.
