The 64-year-old actor arrived with shoulder-length jet black hair and a sleek black tuxedo, leaving some fans doing a double take.

At the ceremony, he received an Honorary César Award for his contributions to cinema. He delivered his entire acceptance speech in French, sharing that his ancestor Marc-François Carré left Saint-Malo for Canada roughly 300 years ago. He was introduced by Michel Gondry, who directed him in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

Carrey attended with his daughter Jane, grandson Jackson, and girlfriend Mina.
