Make It Make Sense

Sgt. 1st Class Nicole Amor, a U.S. Army Reservist from Minnesota, was just days away from returning home to her husband and two children when she was killed in an Iranian drone strike at a U.S. base in Kuwait — one of the first American combat deaths in the war with Iran. Her husband, Joey Amor, said, “She was almost home. You don’t go to Kuwait thinking something’s going to happen, and for her to be one of the first — it hurts.” He recalled their last conversation just hours before the attack. Amor had served nearly two decades in the Guard and Reserve and was remembered as a devoted parent and dedicated soldier. Other U.S. service members also died in the strike, which came amid rising tensions and ongoing military operations in the region.

The San Antonio Zoo held an adorable gender reveal for Tupi, a baby capybara who has been winning hearts online. The celebration revealed that the little capybara — the zoo’s first born since 2000 — is a boy.

Because capybaras don’t show clear gender differences until they grow older, the zoo turned the moment into a fun public event, letting hundreds of visitors and fans celebrate the surprise alongside Tupi and his proud parents.
