Recent reports claim that Israeli intelligence secretly accessed Tehran’s network of traffic cameras for years, quietly monitoring movements around some of Iran’s most sensitive government areas.
According to reporting by the Financial Times, the digital access was allegedly used to track the movements of high-ranking officials and their security teams.
Investigators say the cameras — originally installed by the government to monitor the public — were quietly “turned” to observe the regime itself.
Instead of only searching for the country’s top leader, analysts reportedly focused on bodyguards and drivers, studying long-term patterns such as:
• Where security staff lived and parked their cars
• What time they started work each day
• The routes they used to reach secure compounds
One camera was reportedly positioned near a parking area used by elite security personnel, allowing observers to build what intelligence experts call a “pattern-of-life” analysis over time.
The reports describe a complex intelligence operation where ordinary city infrastructure became a powerful surveillance tool.Recent reports claim that Israeli intelligence secretly accessed Tehran’s network of traffic cameras for years, quietly monitoring movements around some of Iran’s most sensitive government areas.
