British Shepherd’s Pie – Comfort Food Classic
A savory pie made with minced lamb cooked in gravy, topped with creamy mashed potatoes and baked until golden.
Ingredients (Serves 4):
• 500g minced lamb
• 1 onion, chopped
• 2 carrots, diced
• 1 tbsp tomato paste
• 1 cup beef or lamb stock
• 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
• 800g mashed potatoes
• Salt and pepper
• Butter for topping
Instructions:
1. Sauté onion and carrots; add minced lamb and cook until browned.
2. Stir in tomato paste, stock, Worcestershire sauce; simmer until thickened.
3. Transfer meat mixture to baking dish, spread mashed potatoes on top.
4. Dot with butter and bake at 200°C (390°F) for 20-25 mins until golden.
5. Serve hot.

For a crispy topping, sprinkle grated cheese over the mashed potatoes before baking.
