Michael Packard , a 56-year-old experienced lobster diver, lived through a moment that sounds like something out of a movie . While diving about 6 meters deep off the coast of Massachusetts , he was suddenly swallowed by a massive 15-meter humpback whale .
“I was completely inside; it was all black, and I thought I was going to die,” he recalled . For around 30–40 terrifying seconds , he was trapped in darkness, unsure if he would ever make it out.
Then, just as suddenly, the whale surfaced and spat him back out into the ocean . Miraculously, Packard survived with only a dislocated knee , escaping what could have been a fatal encounter.
He managed to swim back to his boat , shaken but incredibly grateful to be alive . The unbelievable incident quickly gained attention, as it felt like a real-life version of an ancient sea story .
His experience is a reminder of how unpredictable and powerful nature can be —and how, sometimes, survival comes down to pure chance and a little bit of luck .Michael Packard , a 56-year-old experienced lobster diver, lived through a moment that sounds like something out of a movie . At just 20, Wawira Njiru couldn’t ignore a painful reality—children in Kenya were going to school hungry.
She started small: a simple fundraiser dinner that raised $1,250 and fed 25 kids. That moment sparked Food4Education.
Today, it serves over 600,000 children daily, with more than 100 million meals delivered—proving that even imperfect beginnings can grow into life-changing impact. At just 20, Wawira Njiru couldn’t ignore a painful reality—children in Kenya were going to school hungry.
