This actually happened.

Beyhan Mutlu, a 50-year-old man from Turkey, was out drinking with friends when he wandered off into a forest and didn’t return.

Worried, his friends called authorities. A full search and rescue operation was launched.

Meanwhile… Mutlu had simply fallen asleep in the woods.

He woke up around 5 a.m., saw a group searching the forest, and — not realizing he was the missing person — decided to help them look.

As the group called out his name, he reportedly asked,
“Who are we looking for? I am here.”

When he realized they were searching for him, he said he “broke into a cold sweat.”

After being taken aside for questioning, he told officers:
“Don’t punish me too harshly, officer. My father will kill me.”

Police gave him a ride home.
