A giant web stretching across trees, plants, and even the water’s edge — like a blanket covering the entire landscape.

Scientists later found that over 111,000 spiders were living inside it, making it one of the largest gatherings ever recorded.

The web wasn’t random.

It gave them shelter
It helped them catch food more efficiently
And perfect conditions (warm weather + lots of insects) made the colony explode in size
