Albanian Tave Kosi – Baked Lamb with Yogurt and Rice

A national dish of Albania, *Tave Kosi* is a comforting oven-baked casserole of tender lamb, creamy yogurt custard, and soft rice — tangy, hearty, and deeply satisfying.

Ingredients (Serves 4):

* 800g lamb shoulder or leg, cut into chunks
* 3 eggs
* 500g Greek-style yogurt
* 100g rice
* 2 garlic cloves, minced
* 1 tbsp butter
* Salt, pepper, oregano

Instructions:

1. Brown lamb in butter with garlic, salt, and pepper. Add rice and cook briefly.
2. Spread meat and rice in a baking dish.
3. Whisk eggs with yogurt and a pinch of oregano. Pour over the lamb.
