Mojo was always sweet with his mom, Anni Cummings, but terrified of strangers. After moving to a new home, he began barking at people walking past the yard—not because he was aggressive, but because he was scared.

Knowing Mojo’s favorite thing was fetch, Anni came up with a simple idea: she placed a bucket of tennis balls by the fence with a sign explaining that if someone threw a ball for Mojo, they could become friends.

The response was immediate. Neighbors, kids, dog walkers, and even mail carriers began stopping to play, and little by little, Mojo’s fear started to fade.
