Slovak Kurací Paprikáš – Chicken Paprikash with Sour Cream
A Central European comfort food, Slovak-style paprikash features tender chicken simmered in paprika-rich sauce and finished with sour cream, served over halušky or noodles.
Ingredients (Serves 4):
* 1kg chicken pieces (legs or thighs preferred)
* 1 onion, finely chopped
* 2 tbsp sweet paprika
* 2 cloves garlic, minced
* 200ml chicken broth
* 150ml sour cream
* 1 tbsp flour
* Salt, pepper, oil
Instructions:
1. Brown chicken in oil. Remove and set aside.
2. Sauté onion and garlic. Stir in paprika.
3. Return chicken and add broth. Cover and simmer ~45 minutes until tender.
4. Mix sour cream with flour, stir into sauce, cook gently for 5 more minutes.
5. Serve with dumplings or pasta.

Traditionally served with soft potato dumplings called halušky.
