An Indian couple from Hyderabad recently went viral for spending around $16,000 to relocate their pet dog Sky to Australia

Australia has some of the strictest pet import rules in the world, especially for countries like India due to rabies concerns. Because of this, Sky couldn’t be taken directly. Instead, the couple had to plan a long and complex journey just to bring him along

They arranged for Sky to stay in a rabies-free country like Dubai for several months before he could qualify for entry into Australia. During this time, they covered expensive quarantine stays, medical tests, paperwork, and boarding costs

The process required patience, careful planning, and strict compliance with veterinary and government regulations. It wasn’t just about money — it was also an emotional challenge, as they had to stay apart from their beloved pet for months

Finally, after completing all the requirements, Sky was safely reunited with them in Australia

The couple shared their journey online, calling Sky “family” and saying leaving him behind was never an option.
