    Spicy Arrabbiata Sauce

    Fiery Italian Arrabbiata Sauce with Garlic and Red Chili Heat

    Ingredients:

    2 tablespoons olive oil

    6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced

    1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)

    1 can (28 oz) whole peeled San Marzano tomatoes

    1/2 teaspoon sea salt

    1/2 teaspoon sugar (optional, to balance acidity)

    Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

    2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley or basil (optional)

    Directions:

    Heat the olive oil in a large skillet or saucepan over medium heat.

    Add the sliced garlic and cook, stirring frequently, until golden and fragrant—about 1–2 minutes.

    Stir in the red pepper flakes and toast for 30 seconds.

    Carefully add the whole peeled tomatoes (crush them by hand or use a spoon to break them up in the pan).

    Add salt, pepper, and sugar (if using), then lower the heat to a simmer.

    Let the sauce cook for 20–25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened and flavorful.

    Stir in chopped herbs at the end, if desired.

    Serve hot over pasta, use as a spicy pizza sauce, or spoon over grilled meats.
