The automaker is investing $888 million into its Tonawanda plant in New York to build a new generation of small-block V8 engines, set to debut in 2027.

These 6th-gen V8s will power trucks and full-size SUVs, featuring upgraded fuel efficiency, thermal management, and more raw power. It’s a clear message: combustion isn’t dead — it’s evolving.

The move comes amid slowing EV demand, as GM adjusts its timeline while still aiming for a full-electric light-duty lineup by 2035. For now? The roar of the V8 lives on.

Slovak Kurací Paprikáš – Chicken Paprikash with Sour Cream

A Central European comfort food, Slovak-style paprikash features tender chicken simmered in paprika-rich sauce and finished with sour cream, served over halušky or noodles.

Ingredients (Serves 4):

* 1kg chicken pieces (legs or thighs preferred)
* 1 onion, finely chopped
* 2 tbsp sweet paprika
* 2 cloves garlic, minced
* 200ml chicken broth
* 150ml sour cream
* 1 tbsp flour
* Salt, pepper, oil

Instructions:

1. Brown chicken in oil. Remove and set aside.
2. Sauté onion and garlic. Stir in paprika.
3. Return chicken and add broth. Cover and simmer ~45 minutes until tender.
4. Mix sour cream with flour, stir into sauce, cook gently for 5 more minutes.
5. Serve with dumplings or pasta.

Slovak Tip:
Traditionally served with soft potato dumplings called halušky.
