Tutti Frutti Ice Cream
Creamy Tutti Frutti Ice Cream with Candied Fruit Delight
Ingredients:
2 cups heavy cream
1 cup whole milk
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup mixed tutti frutti (candied papaya, pineapple, cherries)
Optional: a few drops of red or pink food coloring
Pinch of salt
Directions:
In a mixing bowl, whisk together milk and sugar until the sugar is fully dissolved.
Stir in the heavy cream, vanilla extract, salt, and food coloring (if using).
Chill the mixture in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours or overnight.
Pour the chilled base into an ice cream maker and churn according to manufacturer’s instructions.
In the last 5 minutes of churning, add the tutti frutti bits so they incorporate evenly.
Transfer the ice cream to a lidded container and freeze for at least 4 hours or until firm.
Scoop and serve with a few extra candied fruits on top for added color and crunch.
