    Slow-Cooked Italian Sausage and Bell Peppers in a Savory Tomato Sauce

    Ingredients:

    6 Italian sausages (mild or spicy)

    1 red bell pepper, sliced

    1 green bell pepper, sliced

    1 yellow bell pepper, sliced

    1 large onion, sliced

    3 cloves garlic, minced

    1 (14.5 oz) can diced tomatoes

    1/2 cup marinara sauce

    1 teaspoon dried oregano

    1 teaspoon dried basil

    1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

    Salt and pepper, to taste

    2 tablespoons olive oil

    Optional: fresh parsley for garnish

    Directions:

    Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Brown sausages on all sides (about 2–3 minutes per side). This step adds flavor but is optional.

    In a slow cooker, add sliced peppers, onions, garlic, diced tomatoes, marinara sauce, oregano, basil, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper.

    Tender Slow-Cooked Italian Beef with Aromatic Herbs and Juices

    Ingredients:

    3 lbs beef chuck roast

    1 cup beef broth

    1 (8 oz) jar pepperoncini peppers, sliced, juice reserved

    1 medium onion, sliced

    4 cloves garlic, minced

    1 teaspoon dried oregano

    1 teaspoon dried basil

    1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

    1 teaspoon salt

    1/2 teaspoon black pepper

    1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

    1 tablespoon olive oil

    Hoagie rolls or Italian sandwich buns, for serving

    Optional: provolone cheese slices, giardiniera for topping

    Directions:

    Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the beef roast on all sides until browned, about 3-4 minutes per side.

    Place the sliced onion and garlic at the bottom of the slow cooker.

    Add the seared beef on top of the onions.
