Air Fryer Grilled Cheese

Air Fryer Grilled Cheese

Ingredients:
2 slices of bread (white, whole wheat, sourdough, or any bread of your choice)
2 slices of cheese (American, cheddar, Swiss, or a combination of your favorite cheeses)
1-2 tbsp butter (or softened margarine)
Optional: garlic powder, onion powder, or herbs (such as parsley or oregano) for extra flavor
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Sandwich:
Spread a thin layer of butter (or margarine) on one side of each slice of bread. The buttered side will be the outside of the sandwich.
Place your slices of cheese between the unbuttered sides of the bread to create your sandwich. You can use any combination of cheese you like, but a melty cheese like cheddar or American is perfect for this.
2. Preheat the Air Fryer:
Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 3-5 minutes. This helps ensure an even cook and crispy bread.
3. Air Fry the Grilled Cheese:
Place the sandwich into the air fryer basket or tray, buttered side up. Depending on your air fryer size, you might need to cook one sandwich at a time.
Air fry for about 4-5 minutes, then flip the sandwich and air fry for another 3-4 minutes, or until both sides are golden brown and the cheese is melted. You can check the sandwich halfway through and adjust the cooking time based on your preferred level of crispiness.
4. Serve:
Once done, carefully remove the grilled cheese from the air fryer (it will be hot!).
Let it cool for a minute before slicing and serving.
