Cheesy Garlic Butter Rollups

Cheesy Garlic Butter Rollups
Ingredients:
For the Rollups:
1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough (or pizza dough if preferred)
1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (or a cheese blend of your choice)
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional, for extra flavor)
For the Garlic Butter:
1/4 cup unsalted butter (1/2 stick), melted
3-4 garlic cloves, minced (or 1 tsp garlic powder)
1/2 tsp dried oregano (optional)
1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for a little kick)
1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)
Instructions:
1. Prepare the dough:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
Unroll the crescent roll dough (or pizza dough) onto a flat surface. If using crescent rolls, pinch the seams together to form a single rectangle. If using pizza dough, roll it out into a rectangle shape (about 10x8 inches).
2. Add the cheese:
Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the dough, leaving about 1/2 inch from the edges. If you’re using Parmesan cheese, sprinkle that over the mozzarella for extra flavor.
3. Roll up the dough:
Starting from one edge, tightly roll the dough into a log or cylinder, making sure the cheese stays inside.
Cut the roll into approximately 8-10 even pieces (or more if you prefer bite-sized portions).
4. Make the garlic butter:
In a small bowl, mix the melted butter with the minced garlic, oregano, red pepper flakes (if using), and fresh parsley (if using).
5. Bake the rollups:
Place the cut rollups on the prepared baking sheet, leaving a little space between each piece.
Brush the tops of the rollups generously with the garlic butter mixture, using a pastry brush or spoon.
Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the rollups are golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
6. Serve:
Once baked, remove the rollups from the oven and brush them again with any remaining garlic butter for extra flavor.
Serve warm, garnished with a little more chopped parsley if desired.
