🍲 Korean Tofu Soup Recipe

Ingredients:

1 block of firm tofu, cut into small pieces
2 tablespoons of sesame oil
1 clove of garlic, minced
1 small onion, minced
1 teaspoon of ground ginger
1 teaspoon of salt
1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
2 cups of beef or vegetable broth
2 cups of water
1 teaspoon of gochujang (Korean chili paste)
1 teaspoon of soy sauce
1/4 cup of chopped green onions
1/4 cup of toasted sesame seeds
Instructions:

Sauté Aromatics:
In a large pot, heat the sesame oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and onion, and sauté until the onion is translucent and fragrant.
Add Seasonings:
Stir in the ground ginger, salt, and black pepper. Cook for another minute to combine the flavors.
Add Broth and Water:
Pour in the beef or vegetable broth and water. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil.
Incorporate Tofu:
Carefully add the cubed tofu to the pot. Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 10 minutes, allowing the tofu to absorb the flavors.
Add Gochujang and Soy Sauce:
Stir in the gochujang and soy sauce, adjusting the amount of gochujang to your desired spice level. Simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
Garnish and Serve:
Remove the soup from heat and ladle it into bowls. Top with chopped green onions and toasted sesame seeds for added flavor and crunch.
