Shrimp & Dirty Rice
This flavorful dish combines ground beef, sausage, and shrimp with rice for a hearty and satisfying meal. Here’s how to make it:
Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef
1 lb ground sausage
10-12 shrimp, peeled and deveined
4 cups cooked rice
1 medium onion, chopped (optional)
1 bell pepper, chopped (optional)
2-3 cloves garlic, minced (optional)
1-2 teaspoons Cajun seasoning (or to taste)
Salt and pepper, to taste
2 tablespoons olive oil (or cooking oil of your choice)
Green onions, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions:
Cook the Meats:
In a large skillet or pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
Add the ground beef and ground sausage. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon as it cooks. If using, add the chopped onion and bell pepper, and cook until softened (about 5 minutes). Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
Add the Shrimp:
Stir in the peeled and deveined shrimp. Cook for about 3-4 minutes, or until the shrimp turn pink and are cooked through.
Combine with Rice:
Add the cooked rice to the skillet, mixing everything together. Season with Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper to taste. Stir well to combine and heat through.
Serve:
Once everything is heated through, remove from heat. Serve hot, garnished with chopped green onions if desired.
