Ingredients:

Produce:
1 tsp dried thyme
1 tbsp fresh thyme leaves
Refrigerated:
1 large egg
Condiments:
1 tbsp honey
Baking & Spices:
1/3 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
Kosher salt (to taste)
Oils & Vinegars:
1 cup vegetable oil (for frying)
Bread & Baked Goods:
1 cup panko bread crumbs
Dairy:
1 (8-oz.) log goat cheese
Instructions:

Prepare the Goat Cheese:
Cut the goat cheese log into bite-sized rounds (about 1-inch thick). Place them in the freezer for about 15-20 minutes to firm up, making them easier to handle.
Set Up Breading Station:
In one bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, dried thyme, black pepper, and a pinch of kosher salt. In a second bowl, beat the egg. In a third bowl, place the panko bread crumbs mixed with fresh thyme leaves.
Bread the Cheese:
Remove the goat cheese rounds from the freezer. Dredge each piece in the flour mixture, then dip it into the beaten egg, and finally coat it with the panko bread crumbs. Make sure each piece is well-coated.
Fry the Cheese:
In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Once hot, carefully add the breaded goat cheese bites in batches, frying until golden brown on all sides (about 2-3 minutes per side). Use a slotted spoon to transfer them to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
Serve:
Drizzle with honey before serving for a touch of sweetness. Enjoy these crispy bites warm!
