Garlic Bread Rolls

Garlic Bread Rolls
Ingredients:
For the Rolls:

1 ½ cups warm milk (110°F/43°C)
2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
1 tsp sugar
3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp salt
¼ cup unsalted butter, softened
1 large egg
For the Garlic Butter:

½ cup unsalted butter, melted
3-4 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped (or 1 tsp dried parsley)
¼ tsp salt
¼ tsp black pepper
Instructions:
1. Activate the Yeast:
In a small bowl, combine the warm milk, yeast, and sugar. Stir gently, then let it sit for about 5 minutes until the mixture becomes frothy and bubbly. This indicates that the yeast is active.
2. Make the Dough:
In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt.
Add the yeast mixture, softened butter, and egg to the bowl. Stir to combine.
Knead the dough either by hand or with a stand mixer (using the dough hook attachment) for about 8-10 minutes, until the dough is smooth and elastic.
If the dough is too sticky, add a little more flour, 1 tablespoon at a time. If it’s too dry, add a little more milk.
3. Let the Dough Rise:
Lightly grease a bowl and place the dough inside, turning it once to coat with oil. Cover the bowl with a clean kitchen towel or plastic wrap.
Let the dough rise in a warm place for 1 to 1 ½ hours, or until it has doubled in size.
4. Shape the Rolls:
Once the dough has risen, punch it down gently to release any air bubbles.
Divide the dough into 12 equal portions. Roll each portion into a ball and place them in a greased 9x13-inch baking dish, leaving a little space between each roll.
5. Let the Rolls Rise Again:
Cover the baking dish with a towel and let the rolls rise for about 30 minutes, or until they’ve puffed up and are touching each other.
6. Prepare the Garlic Butter:
In a small bowl, melt the butter in the microwave or on the stove. Add the minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and pepper. Stir well to combine.
7. Bake the Rolls:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Once the rolls have finished rising, brush the garlic butter mixture generously over the tops of the rolls.
Bake for 18-22 minutes, or until the rolls are golden brown on top.
8. Finish and Serve:
Once the rolls are done, remove them from the oven and brush with any remaining garlic butter. Let them cool for a few minutes before serving.
