Mozzarella Stuffed Rosemary Parmesan Soft Pretzels
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cups warm water
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 2 tsp salt
- 1 package active dry yeast
- 4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp melted butter
- 2-3 sprigs of fresh rosemary, chopped
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 10 cups water
- 2/3 cup baking soda
- Coarse sea salt, for sprinkling
Directions:
Step 1: Prepare Dough
In a mixing bowl, combine warm water, sugar, salt, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy. Add flour and chopped rosemary. Mix until the dough comes together. Knead the dough for about 5 minutes. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour.
Step 2: Shape Pretzels
Divide the dough into 10 equal parts. Roll each piece into a long rope. Flatten the rope, place mozzarella and Parmesan, then enclose the cheese. Shape into pretzels.
Step 3: Boil Pretzels
Preheat the oven. In a large pot, bring water and baking soda to a boil. Boil each pretzel for 30 seconds, then place on a baking sheet.
Step 4: Bake
Bake the pretzels until golden brown and the cheese is melted, about 12-15 minutes. Remove from the oven.
Step 5: Enjoy
