The Crookie – A Viral Croissant & Cookie Dessert Recipe!
Get ready to indulge in the ultimate dessert mashup: The Crookie! This delightful treat combines flaky croissants with gooey chocolate chip cookie dough for a dessert that’s sure to impress. Here’s how to make it:
Ingredients:
For the Croissants:
Use croissants that are about half a day old for the best texture (they're easier to slice).
For the Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough:
You can make your own chocolate chip cookie dough (I have a recipe here!) or use store-bought.
Don’t forget to add a sprinkle of sea salt to balance the sweetness!
For the Dark Chocolate:
While optional, adding dark chocolate will elevate your Crookie to the next level. I recommend using Madagascan single origin dark chocolate with 67% cocoa solids or any dark chocolate with cocoa solids above 60%.
For extra indulgence, stuff the croissants with extra chocolate and drizzle melted chocolate on top for that perfect ooze!
For Garnish:
Icing sugar for dusting (optional) – adds a touch of sweetness and a beautiful finish to your Crookie!
Instructions:
Prepare the Croissants:
Slice the croissants in half lengthwise, being careful not to cut all the way through.
Fill with Cookie Dough:
Generously fill the croissant halves with chocolate chip cookie dough. If you’re using extra dark chocolate, feel free to add some pieces inside as well!
Bake:
Place the filled croissants on a baking sheet and bake according to the croissant package instructions or until golden brown and the cookie dough is cooked through.
Add the Finishing Touches:
Once baked, drizzle melted dark chocolate over the top and dust with icing sugar for that perfect presentation.
Serve:
Let them cool slightly before serving. Enjoy the delightful combination of flaky croissant and gooey cookie goodness!
