Air Fryer Fried Ice Cream

Air Fryer Fried Ice Cream
Ingredients:
32 ounces vanilla ice cream (1 quart of high-quality ice cream, such as Haagen Daz or Trader Joe's vanilla)
½ cup all-purpose flour (you'll only use about 2 tablespoons)
1 ½ cups corn flakes (or use 3 cups and omit cinnamon toast cereal)
1 ½ cups cinnamon toast cereal (or use 3 cups and omit corn flakes)
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
3 large egg whites, beaten until frothy
Instructions:
Scoop the Ice Cream:
Scoop the vanilla ice cream into 4-6 balls (about 1/4 cup each) and place them on a baking sheet. Freeze for at least 1-2 hours until firm.
Prepare the Coating:
In a shallow bowl, place the all-purpose flour. In another bowl, combine the corn flakes, cinnamon toast cereal, and ground cinnamon. Crush the cereals slightly for a better coating texture.
Coat the Ice Cream:
Take the frozen ice cream balls out of the freezer. Roll each ball in the flour, shaking off the excess.
Dip the floured ice cream ball into the beaten egg whites, ensuring it’s fully coated.
Roll the egg-coated ice cream ball in the cereal mixture, pressing gently to adhere. Repeat with all ice cream balls.
Freeze Again:
Place the coated ice cream balls back on the baking sheet and freeze for another 30 minutes to 1 hour to set the coating.
Air Fry:
Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
Place the frozen, coated ice cream balls in the air fryer basket in a single layer (you may need to do this in batches).
Air fry for about 2-3 minutes, or until the coating is golden and crispy. Keep an eye on them to prevent melting!
Serve:
Carefully remove the fried ice cream from the air fryer and serve immediately. You can drizzle with chocolate or caramel sauce, or top with whipped cream if desired.
