Cheesy Steak Fries

Ingredients:
For the Steak Fries:
4 large russet potatoes
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon paprika
Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
For the Topping:
1 lb steak (ribeye, sirloin, or flank steak work well)
1 tablespoon olive oil (for cooking steak)
Salt and pepper, to taste
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (or a blend of your favorite cheeses like mozzarella and cheddar)
1/2 cup sour cream (optional, for topping)
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Steak Fries:
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
Wash and scrub the russet potatoes well. Cut each potato into thick wedges, leaving the skin on for extra flavor and texture.
Place the potato wedges in a large bowl and drizzle with olive oil. Add garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper, and toss everything together until the fries are evenly coated.
Spread the seasoned potato wedges out on a baking sheet in a single layer. Make sure the fries aren’t overcrowded to ensure they get crispy.
Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, flipping them halfway through. The fries should be golden and crispy on the outside and tender on the inside.
2. Cook the Steak:
While the fries are baking, heat a tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Season the steak with salt and pepper on both sides.
Cook the steak in the skillet for about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or longer if you prefer your steak more done. Let the steak rest for 5 minutes before slicing it thinly against the grain into strips or bite-sized pieces.
3. Assemble the Cheesy Steak Fries:
Once the fries are done baking, remove them from the oven and top them with the shredded cheese. Return them to the oven for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Remove the fries from the oven and top with the cooked steak pieces.
4. Serve:
Garnish the Cheesy Steak Fries with a drizzle of sour cream (if using) and a sprinkle of freshly chopped parsley.
Serve immediately while the cheese is gooey and the fries are crispy!
