Shrimp Scampi with White Sauce

🍤 Shrimp Scampi with White Sauce 🍝

This recipe makes a delicious and easy shrimp scampi with a rich, flavorful white Sauce sauce.

Ingredients:

1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
4 tablespoons butter
4 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup dry white Sauce (such as Pinot Grigio or Sauvignon Blanc)
1/4 cup lemon juice
1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
1 pound linguine or spaghetti
Instructions:

Cook the Pasta:
In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the linguine or spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve about 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta and set aside.
Prepare the Shrimp:
In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
Add the Sauce and Shrimp:
Pour in the dry white Sauce and lemon juice, and bring to a simmer. Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook for about 2-3 minutes, or until the shrimp turn pink and opaque. If using, sprinkle in the red pepper flakes for a bit of heat.
Combine with Pasta:
Add the cooked pasta to the skillet, tossing to combine. If the sauce is too thick, add a little reserved pasta water to reach your desired consistency. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
Finish and Serve:
Remove from heat and stir in the chopped fresh parsley. Serve immediately, garnished with additional parsley and lemon wedges if desired.
